2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Powertrain

First off, the base gasoline-powered 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe powertrain includes an inline four-cylinder engine that makes 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. Upgrade to the Limited or Calligraphy trim levels and you’ll get a turbocharged version of the engine, which cranks out 281 horsepower and an impressive 311 lb-ft of torque.

Every trim level of the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe has what it takes to tow a heavy load. The SUV, when properly equipped, can easily tow up to 2,000 pounds. Or if you upgrade to the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, the towing capacity jumps to 3,500 pounds.

2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Powertrain

The biggest difference between the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe and the hybrid Hyundai SUV is its powertrain. The powertrain is centered around a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that’s supplemented by an electric motor. Combined, the system makes 226 horsepower. Like the gasoline-powered version, every trim of the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid comes with all-wheel-drive.

While the hybrid powertrain isn’t quite as powerful as the turbocharged gasoline powertrain, the fuel economy is vastly improved. It’s also much better for the environment without sacrificing performance, comfort, or space.
