February 6th, 2024 by

The 2024 Hyundai Kona has undergone a lot of changes. If you’re wondering how it compares to the 2023 model, this guide is for you. Here Kearny Mesa Hyundai goes over what to know about the newest additions.

Power and Performance

Both the 2024 Hyundai Kona and the older model come with the same base engine. It’s a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that offers 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. While the 2023 model had two available engines, the new Hyundai Kona just has one — it’s a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder that generates 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Both models are a joy to drive, as they offer fantastic handling and a great suspension.

Passenger and Cargo Space

One noticeable difference with the 2024 Hyundai Kona is that it’s a lot roomier. Both rows have gotten more spacious, and up to five people can fit quite nicely. Cargo space has also been enhanced. The 2023 model has 19.2 cubic feet behind the back seats and 45.8 cubic feet when they are down. With the 2024 Hyundai Kona, you will get 25.5 cubic feet behind the rear row and 63.7 cubic feet when it’s folded.

Tech Features

You’ll find numerous tech upgrades with the 2024 Hyundai Kona. First of all, it now has a much bigger touchscreen for the infotainment systems. It’s 12.3 inches, compared to an eight-inch found in the 2023 model. You will also get wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, HD and satellite radio, and remote start.
