The base powertrain in the Hyundai IONIQ 5 consists of a 58-kWh battery pack and 125-kW electric motor that combine to produce 168 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Two other powertrains are available:
- 77.4-kWh battery pack and 168-kW electric motor: 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque
- 77.4-kWh battery pack and dual electric motors with a combined 239-kW: 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque
An automatic transmission is standard in this electric Hyundai model, as is rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available.
Driving Range and Charging
The Hyundai IONIQ 5 offers a driving range between 220 and 303 miles, depending on which model you go with. With a 240-volt household-style power outlet, it takes between six and seven hours to get the battery fully charged. DC Fast Charging can take a battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes.
Interior
Space is ample in the Hyundai IONIQ 5, and five people will fit comfortably. Standard features include an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a six-way manually adjustable front passenger seat, and heated front seats.
