Hyundai Hope on Wheels San Diego is pleased to officially present Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego with the $300,000 Hyundai Scholar Hope on September 27th 2019, at 10 am at Rady Children’s Hospital (3020 Children’s Way, San Diego, Ca 92123 – a hospital chaperone will greet media and lead them to the presentation). This ceremony will celebrate pediatric research funding in the fight for ending childhood cancer. San Diego area Hyundai dealers will be present among the honorary guests, Rady children and families.
Dave McCracken, the General Manager and VP of Kearny Mesa Hyundai, is pleased to be able to participate in this event again. For years, Dave has been the front runner when it comes to hosting local community events and helping causes for children, the elderly and animals in San Diego. Each year Dave McCracken makes it a point to attend Hyundai Hope on Wheels events. “The impact behind Hyundai Hope on Wheels and Rady’s is very special. The grant ceremony will highlight Rady Children’s Hospital medical staff and San Diego area cancer patients. The event will feature the Hyundai Hope on Wheels Hero vehicle where handprints will be placed showing the patients’ pledge against the disease.
Hyundai Hope On Wheels® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is committed to finding a cure for childhood cancer. Launched in 1998, Hyundai Hope On Wheels provides grants to eligible institutions nationwide that are pursuing life-saving research and innovative treatments for the disease. Primary funding for Hyundai Hope On Wheels comes from Hyundai Motor America and its more than 800 U.S. dealers. At the end of this year, Hyundai Hope On Wheels will have awarded more than $160 million towards childhood cancer research in pursuit of a cure.
